FAQS

Can These Chicken Wings Be Baked Instead?

Answer: I love making chicken wings because it’s a quick and easy recipe to throw together. It takes under half an hour to bake the wings. But, if you don’t have an air fryer, this can be a super easy meal, too. You could also bake these in the oven. To bake them, preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spray with nonstick cooking spray and season the chicken with salt and pepper.

Can I Baste the Chicken Wings in the Air Fryer?

Answer: That’s exactly what you’ll want to do in order to get the wings really crispy. In fact, you can’t even tell that they’re air fried. You’ll find that when you baste the wings you’ll be able to cook all the chicken at the same time with very little effort. That means you can cook other stuff while you’re at it.

How Do You Reheat Leftover Air Fryer Wings?

Answer: You know that oven in your kitchen? Yeah, put them in there with the oven turned on to bake for 20 minutes at 250°. You can even make sure it’s defrosting by running it through a salad spinner (just be careful not to soak them too much).

Can you Freeze Cooked Chicken Wings?

Answer: You sure can. Leave the chicken wings to cool completely to room temperature. Freeze these overnight on a baking sheet in the freezer. Move them into a freezer safe container or bag and freeze them. Store them in the refrigerator and they will keep for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight, then reheat when ready to use.

CAN I REHEAT CHICKEN WINGS IN MY AIR FRYER?

Answer: Yes you can! Just follow the directions below. Cook your chicken wings in a deep fryer or deep skillet. Let them cool on a wire rack or paper towels. Then, simply add your pre-baked, fresh baked, frozen, or oven baked breaded wings to your air fryer and cook as directed. If you are baking your chicken wings, bake them at 350 degrees for approximately 40-45 minutes.

CAN I COOK CHICKEN WINGS IN THE AIR FRYER WITHOUT ADDED OIL?

Answer: The answer is yes! The trick is to use nonstick spray and/or marinade. In order for chicken wings to brown nicely, they need to be seasoned with oil. However, when cooking in an air fryer, you don’t need to add any oil to your ingredients. That means you can leave the wings in the air fryer without using any oil at all. Make sure you season the wings to give them a delicious flavor, of course.

Do I have to pat dry the wings before cooking?

Answer: NO! The key to crispy chicken wings is pre-seasoning them. Simply season both sides with salt and pepper and place on a sheet pan. Bake at 450 degrees for 20 minutes or until browned. Remove from oven and add a quick marinade made of 1/3 cup olive oil, 2 TBSP Italian seasoning, 1 tsp garlic powder and toss together with your hands. Once coated, place in the air fryer and cook for 15 minutes until crispy.

Can I use a dry rub before cooking them?

Answer: Dry rubs can be used before or after the chicken is cooked. However, a good thing to keep in mind is that you are adding flavor which may affect the texture of the wings so it is best to cook the wings first and add the flavors afterward. If you don’t have time to cook the wings, you can add the rub right on top.

How do you know when the wings are cooked?

Answer: After about 3 minutes you should be able to poke them easily with a fork without them breaking or bending at all. If you do see any bend or breakage in the wing, you might have cooked it a little longer than you needed to. You can try to turn off the heat and put the wings back into the pot if they are still cooking, but don’t cook them longer or the meat might get tough and dry out!
